Janet McClennahan

Janet McClennahan
1944 - 2010
Observing the essence of a child or of wildlife was one of McClennahan's special talents. Her love of capturing emotion was reflected in her bronze works of figures and wildlife. Equally comfortable sculpting people or animals, McClennahan's artworks are alive with expression. Her work has been described as dynamic, beautiful and powerful, capturing emotions and flowing with life and energy.
"My intent is to express my observations of life, personally felt, by arrangement of the material in a pattern or design, to deliberately arouse in the viewer the same emotions I felt. It is very gratifying when viewers respond to my work in this way."
Janet died in September of 2010 after a long illness. She was only 66 years old. Her favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29: 11 ("For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.") She looked forward to the future every day. She touched many lives for good. She is in the presence of the Lord now. She is missed here but her love and the fruits of her tremendous talent remain.
